What's New: InDuo

by Kathy Middlestadt RN,CDE

Nova Nordisc has recently introduced the InDuo. The InDuo is a combined blood glucose monitor and an insulin-dosing device in one unit. The blood glucose monitor part of the device is an Ultra Fast Take. With this monitor you can do finger testing or arm testing. It uses a very tiny sample of blood and works in just 5 seconds.

The other part of the device is the insulin dosing system. It uses an insulin cartridge. All of the novalin insulins are available in cartridge form to be used in their insulin delivery systems. You simply dial up the dose and inject. It even has a built in memory that remembers the time since and amount of your last dose. It's a great convenience. Check with your health care provider or diabetes educator for more information.
