The PCOS Record - September 26, 1998, v1 n1

So, by now you're thinking, "Geez, Michaela. Another newsletter?  Another keyword for the killfile filter? Don't we have enough *noise* on the list already??"

Actually, the purpose of this dispatch is to assist in the administration of the pco-support mailing list, to provide information to the members of this list about PCOSA, to educate members about netiquette, to bridge the gap between the pco-support mailing list, PCOSA, and Usenet's alt.support.pco.

We're hoping that this will be a biweekly posting. Content will vary from issue to issue, but will hopefully cover topics including collections of personal and professional PCO-related websites, commonly used acronyms, low-carb info, recipes, netiquette, subscription/unsubFAQ's, and other resources. Some items, such as netiquette, sub/unsub information, and acronyms, may be repeated as necessary.

Your hosts for this project are Kate Pohjola, Media Relations Coordinator, and Heather Lubinsky, your friendly list moderator.
The PCOSA Record will eventually be archived online...

Ask The Moderator

By Heather Lubinsky

In each of these postings I will answer your questions about the PCO List. For more information on the PCO List check out the FAQs located at http://www.best.com/~mclark/pco/

Dear Moderator,
I just changed ISPs and I don’t know how to change my e-mail address that the PCO List has.
Signed,
Lost in CyberSpace

Dear Lost in Cyberspace,
If you still are able to log into your old ISP send a message from that account to pco-request@lists.best.com and type "unsubscribe" in the body of the Message. Then from your new ISP send a message to pco-request@lists.best.com. And type subscribe (or subsingle if you want single messages) in the body of the message.

If you are not able to log into your old ISP try sending from your new ISP to: pco-request@lists.best.com and type in the body of your message:
unsubscribe abc@abc.com (where abc@abc.com is your old e-mail address)
subscribe 123@123.com (where 123@123.com is your new e-mail address)

If you receive any confirmation messages with REJECT in the subject line click the reply Button and then in the subject change the REJECT to ACCEPT.

If this still does not help send a message to pco-owner@lists.best.com and I will be more than happy to do if for you.

Dear Moderator,
I have AOL and my digest backgrounds are coming in red. This makes them hard to read. What is causing this and what I can do to make it stop?
Signed,
Seeing Red

Dear Seeing Red,
Most likely you do not have AOL 4.0.  Try upgrading to AOL 4.0 - this should help your problem. If you continue to have this problem and you have upgraded to AOL 4.0,   please send a message to pco-owner@list.best.com and I will look into it for you.

Comments? Concerns? Corrections? Suggestions??
