Interview with Colette Harris, author of PCOS: A Woman's Guide to Dealing with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome

Recently, PCOSA's Shelby Anderson spoke with Colette Harris, author of a new called PCOS: A Woman's Guide to Dealing with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome. The book is currently available in the United Kingdom (UK) and is ranked at 255 at http://www.amazon.co.uk. The book will be published in the U.S. in September. Colette is a member of Verity, a PCOSupport sister organization.

Harris was inspired to write the book when she learned at age 23 that she would not be able to have children. "When I looked for information, there wasn't any," Harris said. "My doctor knew nothing other than to prescribe birth control pills." Several treatments for PCOS symptoms are covered in the book - everything from birth control pills to nutrition to detoxifying. Harris said her research started from the moment she was diagnosed. Her advice for women with PCOS is to never give up. "Ask questions and trust your instincts about what treatment will be right for you," she said.

Shelby's full interview with Colette is available in the upcoming issue of the PCOS Bulletin, available to all members of PCOSA.
