A Message from our Founder
Christine DeZarn,
Founder PCOSA
It's a pleasure for me to introduce the first edition of PCOSA Today, the e-newsletter
of the PCOS Association.
We are delighted to acknowledge Insulite Laboratories as the sponsor of PCOSA Today. You
may know Insulite through its PCOS System; one of the company’s many systems focused
on reversing Insulin Resistance-related conditions.
By partnering and sharing resources with Insulite, we will be publishing bi-monthly, covering
the interests of our members while addressing the challenges you face and the many successes
you achieve.
PCOSA Today will help you keep your finger on the pulse of the latest PCOS research. Lifestyle
features, news and information will be delivered on a regular basis - directly to your Inbox.
Of course, PCOSA Today is your newsletter and as members your interests are of paramount importance
to us. We've established a dedicated email address - readerbuzz@pcosupport.org - so that
you can tell us what you'd like to read about in future issues.
It is hard to believe that September marks the 10th anniversary
of the PCOSA. A decade ago, there was very little information available
on PCOS. What began as a small group of women looking to share information
and encouragement via an Internet newsgroup has grown and flourished
into what is now the premiere PCOS-related web site. Today, www.pcosupport.org is
the first place that a newly-diagnosed woman will go to find the truth
about her condition. The PCOSA provides hope and support to tens of thousands
of women across the globe with local support groups in nearly every state
and over 15 countries worldwide.
During these past ten years, we have strived to provide comprehensive
information, support, and advocacy for women and girls with the condition
known as polycystic ovary syndrome. As we look to our future, we
are committed to remain the leading source of reliable, evidence-based
information about PCOS.
The launch of PCOSA Today is in keeping with our mission -
one which we share with Insulite Laboratories. "The greater the
resources, the deeper the commitment we can make to helping women with
PCOS," promises Insulite Managing Director, JW Wilson. September
is also notable for being "PCOS Awareness Month." We
are observing our first month-long auction which you can read more
about below.
I sincerely hope that our comprehensive resources, including the new PCOSA
Today will continue to help women understand and manage their
PCOS for years to come. And perhaps more importantly, I hope
that we can continue to provide a place for you to share experiences,
challenges and successes with other members in a positive environment,
while learning to make lifestyle modifications that lead to better
overall health.
Sincerely,
Christine DeZarn |
