Here's to your Health!

As we approach the upcoming winter holiday season, I can't help but think about one sentiment that we often hear at gatherings of friends and family. “To health!” says Uncle Bob as we all raise our glasses to toast the celebration at hand. Are you healthy? Whether you know it or not, you can have PCOS and be very healthy. PCOS is a tendency for certain hormonal processes within your body to work a little differently than they are supposed to. The results of these issues can be frustrating! But you can compensate for those differences by focusing on what (and when) you eat, and how you move your body. You may add some supplements and/or medications that help you to control some of the hormone issues that you face. But by and large, many women with PCOS are actually healthier than many other women because they pay attention, and make better choices concerning their lifestyle. So celebrate your healthy living as a result of PCOS! If you don't feel that you have already achieved overall health in spite of having PCOS, take this as an opportunity to start anew, in pursuit of new healthy achievements in 2008.

This holiday season, truly enjoy the time you spend with friends and loved ones. Appreciate their quirks as well as their contributions. Accept with a chuckle the snide remarks from Aunt Betty about the dryness of the carefully-prepared turkey. Let the sometimes-irritating noisy children's chatter roll off of you, as you appreciate the bonds that make their sibling ...
